My wife and I joined the Amalfi Coast day tour With Positano Boats and had a great time. The boat, Mr Luigi, could hold 12 but there were only 7 on our tour. It might have be a little crowded if all 12 people were aboard. I think this is probably the only way to really appreciate the Amalfi Coast. You get a great view of all the villages and villas, including Sofia Lorenz’s and Zafferelli’s. The boat is very comfortable and travels along at a speed that allows you to take in the breathtaking scenery. Some of these people REALLY wanted to live on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean! You go very close to some special features such as Fiordo Furore and can go into the Emerald Grotto for an additional €5 - it’s pretty small and the row boat “captain” is a bit cheesy and reminded us 4 times “ not to forget the captain” when it came time for a tip. Unfortunately for him I think everybody on our little boat did “forget”. This part of the day is not the responsibility of Positano Boats so it’s completely up to you if you take part or not - it only takes 15 minutes. When we arrived at Amilfi we looked around for a couple of hours and then decided to catch the boat back to a very secluded restaurant that can only be reached by boat to have lunch. However you can stay in Amalfi for the whole afternoon or even visit Ravello as a couple did I on our cruise. Your captain will offer you these three options. We were glad we went to the restaurant as the prices were good and it was impossible to get there any other way. It was a good experience. The trip back to Positano was just as pleasant and we arrived back about 5.00 pm. We think the day was very good value for money and offered an experience that would be hard to have any other way. Our captain, Andreas, was very informative and spoke very good English.
