Nased on a tripdvisor review we tried out this restaurant on the way back to the airport in Florence, We didn’t realize it was somewhat off the beaten track and on the way we were’t sure if we hadn’t lost our bearings. It was definitely worth the trip. We had amazing home cooked food. No fuss, just authentic ingredients prepared well. Bring time, because freshly cooked meals take time but it is worth the wait. Don’t expect anything fancy, in German one would say “bodenständig”. We just had time for antipasto and primi piatti, but were more than satisfied when we were done. We sat outside just where the road takes a turn but given the minimal traffic this was not a problem. In Pisa the temperature was 30 degrees Celsius, at the restaurant we just reached 20 degrees. We would definitely go back.

We couldn’t wait to get back to the Molino and eat… we came in July 2015 for my sister’s wedding and it was every bit as good as we remembered. A delightful atmosphere in the winter with a cosy fire! It was interesting as an Australian, seeing four dogs in a small space (all owned by different table guests) but they were well behaved and sat quietly while we indulged in a three hour culinary experience. Highlight dishes were the fresh cheese platter, antipasto, tortellini and the turkey roll. Each bite is so beautifully crafted with herbs and flavours that enhance the freshly made pasta, bread and cakes. The liquor to end and coffees are a nice touch and house wine is delicious. Around 25 euros each- all inclusive!

Even if you aren’t staying nearby, it is worth driving to this tiny area with gorgeous surroundings for an authentic local meal. The anti-pasty were delicious especially the local polenta. Both of the pasta dishes we ordered were delicate and perfectly balanced. Our main courses were also great but we were so full I don’t think we appreciated them nearly as much as we could have. We couldn’t make it as far as dessert since we had indulged in so many choices from the menu. But, the table next to us were sharing several desserts and seem to be enjoying all of them. The table wine was great service was excellent the atmosphere is cozy and warm. This would be a wonderful place to warm up and have a comforting meal after a hike on a cold day.

It's hard to expand something so out of ordinary.

Isn't just one of the best meal I ever had in my life but also the atmosphere that can drive anyone back in times.

All the for is hand made by the chefs and local farmers.

Definitely is a must to visit not just for the one that are passing by but is a trip to plan for anyone on holiday in florence.....

The beauty of the Italian country side is the magic of a lost culture that still hold itself far from our frenetic civilizzation

Please try the involtini and tagliolini all'ortica with speck and erba cipollina

I ate at the Molino three times during my stay in Orsigna and all three times it was simply faultless, inspired and breathtaking food.

The tender touch and care for the produce comes through in all of the dishes and the sheer depth and volume and the dishes (variety and amount) was the best kind of surprise.

The setting is unique, the service unbeatable and the food is sensational.

My favourite was the beetroot gnocchi- but it was really amazing to just keep eating whatever dish came next.

We visited from Australia and I can quite honestly say it would be worth a trip from anywhere in the world just to eat at this restaurant.

Allow 4-5 hours and a day to recover!

The best restaurant I've ever been to.
