The hotel is recommended for visitors to Paestum. It is at distance of a few minutes' walk from the archaeological site.
The hotel is in a nice building with adjacent parking. The rooms are large and spacious. The shower is a bit cramped but bath room is of relatively reasonable size. The main disadvantage of the hotel is that it does not have an elevator and we had to carry the suitcases 3 stories up the stairs.
Breakfast was good and included good coffee upon order, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, vegetables, cereals, yogurt and a selection of cakes.

It has been a long time wish of mine to visit the spectacular temples of Paestum
I chose the Il Granaio dei Casabella purely as a cheaper hotel, close to the temples. To use for two nights. On arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find it appeared to be a converted farmhouse. It was stunning. With very spacious lounge areas furnished with period furniture.
Our room was on the second floor ( No lift ). It was huge and again had period farm furniture. Very good seperate bathroom.
When I looked out of our window I was greeted with a view of one of the temples. Amazing!
The breakfast was of a high standard. continetal style.
The grounds of the hotel were landscaped and we spent a very pleasent afternoon relaxing in them, enjoying the sun.
We had a hire car and there was free secure parking within the hotel grounds.
Walking to the temples, took but 10 minutes. Plenty of good restaurants to choose from. A good variety of cafes to sit and admire the temples
We enjoyed our stay so much, we returned a week later and stayed another night

I can't add anything to prior positive reviews. Just scan the summaries in TA reviews and you'll get the flavor of this charming hotel. Doesn't "casabella" mean "beautiful home?" Interesting common area rooms with vintage furnishings.

I found il Granaio through TA. My husband and I couldn't have been happier. The converted barn was perfectly restored and filled with antique furniture. Very beautiful but also comfortable. Our room was lovely, large and had a view of the temples. (Our room was "standard double".

The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was wonderful (I read a review to the contrary before we arrived and I can't imagine why....) Lovely selection on fresh fruit, sliced meats, cheeses, yogurt, granola, homemade jams etc. my husband loved the homemade cakes and crostata which changed daily and there was a kind barista who made wonderful cappuccinos and delivered them to your table.

The location was perfect. 10 minute walk to the temples and archeological museum so we left the car mostly in the parking lot. There are also shops and some fantastic restaurants there too. The street outside il Granaio is closed to cars in the evening and three nice restaurants use the Ancient Roman wall as the backdrop for outdoor tables.

Driving distance - 10 minutes to the beaches and 10 minutes to great mozzarella farms where you can arrange tours, tastings and meet the bufalo.
Grazie a lo staff! We'd love to return soon.

We had reserved for 3 adults through Expedia. The room we were getting (for that price) had a 3rd bed that would only suit a child (not our 6’6’’ son...). So, we got an upgrade in a wonderful suite, no charge. That was for one night. We left the next day to drive to an Agriturismo in Casal Velino that was well under our expectations. So, after the first night there, we called back Il Graniao and they reserved the same room for us (again at that same price). Very nice of them (at that time of the year, the hotel is not very full, but still, it was a nice gesture).

This is a very charming place, an old but very large house, well decorated. The dining room (for breakfast) has large windows/patio doors allowing one to admire the well maintained garden.

Breakfast is very good, varied and, unlike other places, they don’t run out of anything! Cold cuts, cheeses, croissants, bread, various fruits, homemade cakes and cookies, etc.

There is parking in the back of the property (behind gates) so this is one less worry when you have a rental.

It is just a few minutes walking distance from the Paestum ruins site and museum, so very convenient.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the region (not just Paestum).
