During our weekend in Montepulciano, we visited four wineries and Montemercurio was by far our favorite. Amazing wine, an interesting family story/history, and lovely staff. Irene led our tasting and was so warm and friendly - she made us feel right at home! We highly recommend a visit!

We drove for over an hour as a group only to be turned away by a very rude employee! Horrible experience. Stay away!!!

We visited the montemercurio vineyard as part of a pre-booked wine tour, and this was certainly the best one we went to.
The lady who showed us around was very friendly, knowledgable and passionate about the wines they produce. All organically prepared, and in small batches as they are one of the smallest producers in the region.
After being shown round the machinery, we were then taken for a winetasting at the owners house. Here we got six very generous servings of their wines (one white, one rose, and four reds), followed by a very expensive desert wine and some grappa! Definitely not a tasting you'd be able to drive afterwards!

We really enjoyed the tour and tastings, and ordered some wine to be shipped back to the UK.
If you do one vineyard tour, make it this place, it's a superb visit.

I have tried many wines during my month in Tuscany and these were among my favorites. It is a small winery which is combining traditional methods with modern innovations. They produce a wide variety of wines including a nice Rose. The person doing the tasting was fun and knowledgeable. There are beautiful views from their small tasting room. No pressure to buy, but you will want to because the wines are so good!

We went to several wineries during my week stay in Montepulciano. This was by far the best. Easy to schedule visit. The wines were all very good, very friendly staff. Very personal experience tasting in the home of the owner. This place will be #1 on tripadvisor once more people get a chance to experience the hospitality and wines of Montemercurio.
