Had been a 3 star hotel I would have given an higher mark but from such an hotel I expect really much more.

Very central location in a quiet road and very welcoming staff at the reception.
The room was not perfectly clean or maybe it was just old.
I had a room set for handicap people: the flush of the toilet didn’t work and I had to call the guy at the reception. He said that they had problems before. With him everything was fine but I simply couldn’t make it work.
Television was simply too small to be watched.

Breakfast on the average...not the quality you expect from a 4 stars

This hotel is at the gates of the old city making it convenient for sightseeing. Also close to clusters of good restaurants. They have locked secure parking about 3 blocks away for a daily charge of 10 euros per day. Unfortunately our room was quite small and dark with only one narrow window.

The staff were friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere – the breakfast was average. In general I felt the staff could use more training as the organization was rather haphazard.

This is small traditional hotel close to all the main sights in Ferrara. The air con was good which you really need in summer. You could say that the rooms are dated but I think that it all added to the charm of the place. Ferrara is beautiful; I would recommend the walking routes on the tourist maps

We stayed here for two nights in January, we arrived early but our room was ready and we could check in. The hotel is centrally located and very easy to find, the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good, the room was spacious and clean. Overall a very good stay and would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Corte Estense last year for a couple days and this year for a week. It is located just steps from the cathedral and within pleasant walking distance of all sites in Ferrara. The railway station is a 20 minute walk or the bus to/from the station is virtually right across the street.

Rooms are large and well equipped including the refrigerator which is helpful for storing fruits and cheese. (Supermarket is nearby). The reception staff is very helpful (providing bus, train, and taxi information to destinations as diverse as Pomposa Abbey and a concert venue outside the walls). Staff in the breakfast room is cordial and delivers selected beverages quickly.

Hotel Corte Estense is recommended without hesitation for a pleasant and comfortable stay in this lovely town.
