I stayed here with 6 friends over the Christmas period and had an absolutely fabulous time. The staff were most friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was outstanding with a great variety of fresh foods and drinks. The service by Alessio(?)and his colleague was exceptional. They are great ambassadors for this hotel.
On Christmas Night we were given the use of one of the beautiful salons to exchange gifts and have our own party.
The bedrooms/bathrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and well kept.

This hotel alone is reason enough to visit Ferrara.
Thank you to all the staff for making it a magical Christmas

First the positive points:
The location is ideal, within five minutes walking distance to the center of Ferrara.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking in the garden (11 € per day).

But:
The Hotel is advertised as a Five Star Hotel.
The hotel is an old palazzo, more bad than good restored. Someone loves antique clocks and there are much to many objects all over the place.
The keyring is a very heavy iron key, seams a nice idea but it is almost impossible to unlock the door without breaking your fingernails.
We had a room on the second floor with a connecting door. The people next door where unfortunately loud and indiscreet.
About 11 p.m. someone in the room above us started to walk up and down, making an incredible noise. After one hour we called reception to stop this.
The very large bathroom is extremely in need of renovation. A bathtub with bad fittings and an incredibly disgusting shower curtain.
The minibar (did not work) was filled with 4 little Bottles of Water. No Glases, no possibility to make Tea or Coffee.
Breakfast was average, far away from 5 Stars.

If you like to stay there be sure have ear protection in your luggage.

Look beyond the 5 stars or the inexpensive price: a night at Hotel Isabella is great fun. Huge room, huge bed and huge key while experiencing a majestic palace of the past. And the breakfast was plentiful.

This is a charming hotel with a pretty garden. Hotel is tastefully decorated, staff was very friendly, room was quiet. We were happy because they have parking facilities inside, where we were able to park our car and take bicycles to explore Ferrara. Unfortunately they charge additionally for the parking. However, location of this hotel is very convenient. They also have a superb breakfast.

I loved this hotel with its quirky camp decor, in a beautiful palazzo. The room was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was within easy walking distance of the historical centre and about 30 mins walk from the station. There were a couple of decent bars/restaurants just outside it. And it was good value for money.
