My family and I had the great privilege to take a day tour from Florence with Giovanni. He met us at our hotel as planned and the mini van he had was spacious and comfortable. We were a family of four and he was comfortable talking with our 12 year old as he was with my wife and I. Our tour took us through a great history of Tuscany. We started with San Gimignano and then a small midevil town before heading to beautiful Sienna where we enjoyed a wonderful walking tour and lunch. His knowledge of the history of the Tuscan region was extensive and insights into place to go and things to do was great. Finally we had a great drive through Florence going to some of the best spots for picture taking. A wonderful guide and host, we would highly recommend Giovanni as your tour guide.

We were collected by Giovanni at the agreed time and driven from our rental apartment in Florence to spend a day enjoying the wonderful surrounding countryside and towns and villages. I requested that Giovanni take us to interesting places not easily accessible by public transport, and a good place, with a beautiful setting, to have lunch al fresco - Giovanni delivered on all accounts. He was a superb guide and host: warm, friendly, informative, but not intrusive; he had the balance just right.

Giovanni is an instant friend and expert travel guide. If you are looking for a way to travel to the key destinations without wasting a minute, Giovanni can do that. He got us to Pisa before the crowds and lines formed. We moved in and out of Florence without a moment wasted in traffic. And we returned to our cruise line without delay. He is truly an expert with a vast knowledge of the country's history and culture. My only regret...that we didn't have more time to travel with him through his beloved countryside.

Giovanni collected us on our anniversary, at our hotel near Greve, and took us on a very detailed very enjoyable tour of Florence. Both his knowledge of the area, as well as his knowledge of people proved valued. It was a special day for us and he helped make it even moreso.

Giovanni met our party of 8 promptly as we departed our cruise ship (Celebrity Silhouette) in the Livorno port. We had booked an all-day tour of Pisa and Lucca and the day started off badly due to very heavy rain.

Giovanni took us on the picturesque road to Pisa and did a driving tour of the town with lots of commentary about the history, architecture, economy and agriculture. We were disappointed not to be able to visit the tower--but not advisable in a thunderstorm!

Our next stop was Lucca, again by small country roads. He was able to drive inside the walls and park very close to the sights we wanted to see. This was no mean feat as there was a huge comic show and thousands of visitors in Lucca that weekend (an unexpected bonus of the tour).

Giovanni recommended a great cafe while we waited for better weather.

The rain stopped and we were able to walk around beautiful Lucca and the city walls and visit a number of the city's shops and attractions.

We then returned to Pisa, parked right beside the tower, and got all our compulsory photos in the sunshine..

Giovanni was very flexible and accommodated any request. He was always punctual, friendly, and informative. I would highly recommend booking him for a small group for a tour in this area of Italy.
