A wonderful stay above the water and the main hotel, the room was clean and the temperature perfect with its individual air conditioner. The main attraction is meal time, Sig. Mauro runs the most efficient service ever seen, the evening meals are selected during breakfast for the evening, Sig. Mauro ensures you are cared for with a sincere greeting, service with a smile that lasts the entire day, his staff move from table to table with your feelings at heart, everyone in the kitchen stops to say hello ask if everything is well and what can they do to improve the service, incredible and superb. We were greeted with a light show due to a bad wire in a neon light and somehow our bath was identified as having a drainage problem which took two nights to repair, this was another service completed with a smile and concern for our stay. The beach under Sig. Marco's control was absolutely perfect, clean and enjoyable with water that seemed to come out of a faucet so clean and warm it was glorious, all one needs to do is ask, the staff is there with smiles and solutions. The bed mattresses were the only area we identified as uncomfortable, they may be older and require changing or it may have been us, not sure but we brought it up during the checkout process and were told it would be looked into. The ferry from Italy to Elba was on time and easy to book we booked at the port of Piombino and were on the ferry in less than one hour with the ferry taking one hour to Elba, upon arrival we followed the signs to Capoliveri and were in the hotel within an hour. I recommend you do not take the ferry on Sunday unless you have confirmed return tickets and be ready to move from one pier to the other, the organization on the port of Portoferrio is another world and patience is the key to a successful departure. Be ready for standby status and keep a smile on your face as you would not want to ruin your stay on the island due to confusion at the port. Another note for those of us who have never been to the port of Piombino trust the signs once you arrive, it may look as though you are being led somewhere other than the port, you will arrive at the ticket office.

Room Tip: The rooms in the Depandance area do not have WI FI, the beach and the main hotel do have free WI FI

We were staying on our yacht anchored in a bay around the corner and so I can't comment on the accommodation however, we jumped in our dinghy to find a lovely long lunch spot and were pleasantly surprised to find the outdoor restaurant at Hotel Antares. We felt blessed that there was a table for two on the waters edge to enjoy a lovely lunch overlooking the beautiful sandy beach and water on such an clear blue amazing day. The crystal clear water shone like a beautiful jewel from our vantage spot. The hotels wine list was solid and the dishes offered were excellent. The service was efficient and the meals were incredibly tasty. We both really enjoyed our lazy lunch in this stunning and secluded spot.

Following a two night say at Hotel Valle Verde, we moved to the sister Hotel Antares, due to room availability. The hotel is situated on the Lido di Capoliveri beach, and has it's own private section, easily accessed from the hotel terrace. It also has it's own swimming -pool, which we did not have the opportunity to try.
Our stay was forced on us by a car problem, and the help received from the director of the hotel, and from the receptionists, in resolving associated problems was truly exceptional.
We had a room that was more than adequate, and we would have been comfortable there on an extended stay. The food and meals were very similar in style and varIety to that experienced at Valle Verde, and were very acceptable. We will recommend this hotel to friends & family who are considering a holiday on Elba.

Room Tip: We were happy with No 49!

We had a week with two teenagers here and for its rating this is a very nice hotel. The location is excellent, right next to its own beach, which has sunbeds and umbrellas and towels for guests. The hotel is done in a nautical theme which is not overstated and is nicely done. Food is reasonable, good Italian home cooking and certainly appropriate for the rating - don't expect Michelin stars. The staff are all very helpful. The rooms are a bit on the small side and ours smelled slightly of damp, but they are very clean and well maintained. Well recommended for a family beach holiday

Ok, putting this place into perspective it's good for a 3 star hotel and don't want sound like a show off but we do generally stay in 5 star places when we travel but 5 star hotels in Elba are rare and the ones that are here are prohibitively expensive. So we thought we would stay in this quaint place. Ok things that weren't so good. Rooms are small, if you are an oompa loompa or friends with snow white then you will be fine. The air conditioning doesn't work and only 3 pillows provided. The wifi stars from 1 Euro for half an hour and is only available in the lobby area, I was led to believe it was complimentary. There are lots of children around so not so good for couples. Ok now the good. Location is right on the beach bar for about 10 steps you walk down. Pool and garden area are very nice and relaxing. The food is amazing, we stayed on a half board basis, four courses and different menu every night although breakfast wasn't so good. Handy to main town centre and other tourist attractions. Good family hotel, nice private beach, your own guaranteed sun lounger and towels available for hire.
