We spent 2 nights at the Alloggio Della posts vecchia to see the nearby
Valley of the temples. It is in an authentic old building in an alley and doesnt look great from the outside, but we were presently surprised when we entered.Angela welcomed us with coffee, water and biscuits and took a lot of time to give us tips how to get to The Valley of temples, what attractions to see in town, bars and restaurants.
The room was spacious with tiles on the floor, antique furniture, a painting on the ceiling and a small balcony with a view of the town and the Mediterranean in the distance.
The breakfast prepared by Francesca was very good with fresh fruit, yoghurt, ham,Salami, different cheeses, sweets. Both our hosts made as feel so welcome that we were sad to leave.
The allegro is situated right on the old part of town, 10 minutes walk from the bus station.Closeby is a nice restaurant Osteria L Ambasciata di Sicilia with good sicilian food, and a lovely atmosphere.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the painted ceiling

My boyfriend and I spent just 1 night in Agrigento at Allogio della Posta Vecchia in order to explore the valley of the temples. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as from the outside the bb looks simple, but its quite charming on the Inside. You have the feeling of being in someone's home that has remained unchanged since the turn of the century. We were greeted and given all the information possible about the area ( including restaurants, bars and the best way to visit the temples). We were quite impressed with all the information given to us as we probably would not have enjoyed agrigento as much as we did without the recommendations! We really appreciated them taking the time to sit down and explain everything about the area and give their advice on what to do and where to go and where to park for free.
HIGHLY THANKFUL! We were even upgraded to a bigger room as the hotel was not filled which was a nice suprise!

Room Tip: take a room with a view!

This B&B is well-positioned in Agrigento with good views over the valley, but with a position near the centre of the town giving access to historic buildings and a number of restaurants.

The Valley of the Temples is accessible (by car) down in the valley below.

Parking is not easy but this is a common feature in Sicily, we found - and the only solution seems to be persistence. We found a meter near the end of Via Atenea, which was quite convenient. €2.5 lasted a very long time…

Our host was most welcoming and helpful with maps and advice about the area.

The room was large and clean and comfortable and the wifi was fairly good. Air-conditioning was effective.

Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the valley of the temples and was good.

We had the loveliest (albeit short) experience at this B&B. The hosts were warm, accommodating and very informative about things to do and places to visit/eat. The rooms were AMAZING, with the most incredible views. The location is super central and easy for eating out and getting around Agrigento. Highly recommended.
