We stayed at the Sea View for three nights, and we had a wonderful time. Our room was fabulous; great big comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, good wi-fi, and immaculately clean. The breakfast was a pretty standard continental-style brekkie, and we were the given the option of having it served wherever we wanted it; in our room, on the rooftop terrace, or on the deck in front of the hotel, overlooking the beach. The hotel boss (and owner?) even found my wife a special big mug for her to enjoy her morning coffee, she felt like the Queen Of The Sea View!
The public areas were clean and comfortable, and the rooftop pool and terrace were heavenly. The owner and his staff were attentive and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were there just as the #LebanonProtests demonstrations started, and our journey from Beirut had left us a bit frazzled, and they did their utmost to make us feel relaxed and at home. True Lebanese hospitality.
The hotel is situated on right on the beach, which is a small, pebbly cove, overlooking part of the Phoenician sea wall, and it’s about five minutes walk into Batroûn old town. The first part of the walk is through a bit of waste land, which isn’t lit at night, so taking a torch out is a good idea.
Batroûn is a beautiful little town, and after the madness and mayhem of Beruit, it was a perfect place to chill-out, and the Sea View Hotel was a great place to recharge our batteries!
