Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is best-known as the home of the world-famous Lovell Telescope -A near 90m high radio telescope that has become an iconic landmark on the Cheshire landscape. Seeing the telescope up close and in action is an exhilarating sight and the Centre's interactive displays and exhibits help explain what the telescope does and how it works. The Discovery Centre also includes a cafe and gift shop, along with 35 acres of gardens and arboretum, complete with picnic areas and playground, perfect for a family day out. You'll also find a year-round events programme including live science shows taking place during school holidays, a popular evening lecture series, and the award-winning annual festival of discovery, Bluedot.

We thought the entrance fee was quite high for what was there. If it hadn’t have been half term with the Siemens interactive experience then there might not have been much to do. The talk was very interesting and we all enjoyed that. Was interesting to see the telescope up close but would like to have known more about what it was doing and how it worked. The cafe is really small and struggles to cope with the lunchtime rush. Is also very expensive. £4 for a party size hotdog. Could be so much better. Would visit again but only for the talks - would give the cafe a wide berth.

This place has been on my bucket list for years , the dish itself is amazing, everything else wasn’t interesting unless you’re 10 or under.
Followed the path to the viewing platform.. what a joke , it’s a bit of decking at ground level, I don’t call that a viewing platform.
Keep your cash in your pocket at take pictures from the car park or surrounding roads.

Very interesting place to visit, great for adults and children especially 4 years +.....free hands on activities provided, we attended a talk focussing on the science of space etc., this was child friendly and interesting. Cafe on site was reasonable as was the cost of entry. Gardens are lovely, having a children’s play area.....nice to walk around.....n.b. mobile phones can be used in airplane mode only tho. Overall a great place to visit.

Very expensive. Not much to do, exhibits not working. Lot of building work ongoing. Safe your money and go somewhere like Tatton Park where you just pay to park (unless you want rides, houses, etc).
