Arrived at ambassador having booked two double rooms. Both rooms were like shoe boxes but my mother and aunts room had only a 3/4 bed . We went down to reception to try and sort out the problem and showed them our booking form however staff were very unhelpful initially stating there had no other rooms available then stating they would move my Mam and aunt but wanted a further £50. There was no negotiation or apology and my aunt spent the night sleeping on the floor as the bed was no where near big enough for two adults. For the money we paid we did not expect the Ritz however did expect two double beds as booked and some standard of cleanliness. After leaving the booking so late when visiting Scarborough for a concert we perhaps should have been wary that this hotel was the only one left with any vacancies -again all we wanted was a clean bed to climb into and they were neither clean or big enough. Don't normally leave such poor reviews however after trying to resolve the issues with staff who were not in the slightest bit interested or bothered we were left with no choice!!! Do not book !!

So the hotel advertises sea views, breakfast etc. However we were given a small room at the back overlooking a brick wall. The bathroom had a severe smell of drains. But the rooms were clean and our room although small was pleasant. The 2 staff we saw during our stay seemed very run off their feet and to me the place just looked understaffed.
The biggest disappointment was at breakfast. We arrived down at 9 - breakfast finished at 9.30. There were no clean tables, in fact there wasn’t anyone cleaning them anyway. There was no hot water for brews, no butter for toast - the only things left for the hot breakfast was beans, 1 sausage and 3 fried eggs and that was all! The poor lady running the dining room on her own just simply had too much to do and customers were asking her all the time for things and she just couldn’t do it all. So we couldn’t have breakfast and went elsewhere. There must have been around 20-30 people in the dining room for 1 staff - completely unfair and the worst breakfast experience I have ever seen. It’s actually the staff I feel so sorry for - clearly trying to do their best under pretty difficult circumstances.

Booked this hotel for overnight stay booked two compact doubles,on arrival the ladies on reception were most helpful,we were told where the swimming pool was located and what time breakfast is served, there is no bar in this hotel so you might want to take your own.The rooms were small but clean and tidy what more could you ask for,we would return if in Scarborough again.

Sea Views, Stunning Wet room, Fantastic Coffees to go to the Beach, awesome free Breakfasts, great Sea View Contemporary Boutique bedrooms,

We can not fault the gorgeous Ambassadir Hotel in a Very Sunny Scarborough!

My friends and I were made to feel so very welcome from the moment we parked for free and were shown the superb Marble Grecian Indiir swimming pool ... all for FREE .... Love, Love, Love it.

We will definitely return for more wonderfulness. well done one and all !!!
