This hotel delivers on all levels. The staff are excellent, very helpful and polite. The cleanliness of the rooms and indeed throughout the hotel . Dining menus offer a very good choice and beautifully cooked meals. We struggle to find fault with this lovely hotel and we certainly hope to return .

A quality hotel, rather overpriced, spoiled somewhat by the rain water pouring off a blocked guttering or rooftop onto the outside balcony which was a disturbance both day and night. I accept it was particularly wet during our stay but it did not seem to affect any other rooms.

This hotel never fails to amaze - amongst the best we've ever stayed in, which is why we keep coming back. We did experience some delays in service in the restaurant and lounge, but given the fact that the Victoria, like so many other businesses in hospitality, appeared to be struggling with some shortage of staff - understandable given Covid19 - the service most of the time was exemplary. Well done, Brend.

All aspects were of very high quality. However, it is time to reintroduce the former dress code for dinner in the Jubilee Restaurant. The staff maintain formal working dress with uncomfortable face masks; the male diners should, at least, reciprocate this respect by their own dress. A short-sleeved shirt does not constitute 'smart casual', although with a jacket as well it might. Time to return to former standards before 'dress-down' becomes permanent. If not yet - when?

From the minute I rang up and booked this hotel I had a good feeling that it was going to be excellent and my first instinct was right.

The Victoria is absolutely spotless and the staff are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. They are very attentive and genuinely want you to have a lovely stay.

We had dinner two nights in the hotel which was a treat. Maybe not the cheapest but for the quality of food and a fabulous band playing in the background it was without doubt worth every penny. The table is laid with Silver plated cutlery, starched table clothes and serviettes, wonderful fresh floral displays..the standard is very high.

Everything about this hotel is top notch with attention to detail. It’s just how hotels used to be but sadly are no longer. There is a comfortable lounge, (not these horrible modern Artrium’s) this is pure luxury — The Ritz of Sidmouth!

Sadly I forgot my swimming costume so sadly didn’t get to use the spa but this gives me a good excuse to book my next visit!

There was nothing to fault…just pure perfection. We didn’t want to leave so are already planning our next visit. Most guests are regular returnees so that say it all.
