The George Hotel has an enviable reputation for excellence. It didn't disappoint today in the 'Garden Room Restaurant'. My party of four enjoyed great food and excellent service. A special mention must be made for 'Super Star' Sarah, part of the management team, she had the room running like clockwork. I look forward to the next visit.

Stayed two nights in 4 poster room. This is such a perfect hotel for the copder months with real fires and a traditional restaurant serving lovely food. The room is great to spend time in with lovely searing error and a large well equipped bathroom. The only negativr on a great stay is the breakfast served in the garden room which i just dont get,why have undergrowth all over the place and choice is surprisingly limited for those not wanting an English cooked breakfast but all in all this is my favourite hotel out of London

Just decided to treat ourselves to an overnight on our way to a golf break, and this was certainly a treat. The food was out of this world, the service was phenomenal yet unobtrusive. Very friendly and helpful staff, and the ambiance was delightful, especially having coffee by a roaring fire. The room was not particularly spacious but beautiful fitted to a very high standard. Loved it.

We stayed the night on our way back from Durham to London. The perfect “half way” stop over. Everything was so well done: the staff are amazingly attentive and friendly, the rooms comfortable and stylish and the charm of the hotel is all around.
Dinner and breakfast were delicious. A highlight was our drinks in the bar as the service was just the best!
Can’t wait to find an excuse to return...

Wonderful lunch at the George today, a real treat. Staff were so helpful , as always . Seabass was fresh and tasty , with the vegetable terrine. Lemon tart & raspberries just perfect.
Just one small request , please install a proper high speed electric car charger at 50amp. The existing socket would take 12 hours to charge !
