This hotel is in an excellent location both for exploring the area (Paphos, inland, the Akamas peninsula) and for enjoying seabathing as there is a sandy beach close by. The hotel gardens are attractive with plenty of seating and west facing to enjoy sunsets. We were in an adults only premium room so enjoyed 'extras' such as water, coffee and fruit in the room and the offer of free afternoon tea and aperitifs in an adults only lounge. We chose 'mountain view' which is a misnomer. The room faced the car park and the busy road beyond, with traffic noise that meant sitting on the spacious balcony was not pleasant. The window did not seem double glazed so the traffic could be heard from the room. We selected dinner bed and breakfast as this was cheaper than just B+B! The dinner was buffet style and of a good variety. The atmosphere was a bit clinical and there were in theory other restaurants to choose from but these were not always open or already fully booked which was a bit frustrating. Breakfast buffet style was excellent and we enjoyed taking that by the pool. The staff in the restaurants were helpful and hard working. Reception staff less so. This sort of defensive attitude is not customer friendly and leaves a bad impression. The staff need to be trained to say, for instance 'I'm sorry you are not happy. Would you like to speak to the restaurant manager?' for example. Overall I would say this hotel is 4 stars. For 5 stars I would expect excellent service from all staff and better restaurant availability. (Two nights we ate out at a little local restaurant which was much friendlier and atmospheric).More
