We are regular visitors to North Cyprus and have been visiting for almost 20 years. It is our favourite holiday destination and have stayed at a number of Hotels and more recently in private rented Villas.
We have never before stayed at the Pia Bella Hotel although we were aware of it's great location and impeccable reputation with a huge amount of repeat guests.
Having now stayed there for three weeks on Half Board in a Deluxe room I have to say that we have been completely won over by this incredible Hotel.
I cannot now envisage us staying anywhere else in North Cyprus.
The Staff were, in the main, incredible. The Customer Services Manager, Sarah, was the Jewel in the Crown of their customer focused approach. As reported by many others. She would be there at breakfast, greeting you as she circulated among the tables and asking if you were happy and if not, taking note and doing her utmost to rectify any issues that were raised.
Sarah is truly worth her weight in gold. I got the feeling that she genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay and would go out of her way to make that so. My advice is that if you have any issues that you aren't happy with to speak with Sarah at the earliest opportunity. If it is in her power to resolve it - she will. Don't wait till you come home...We are regular visitors to North Cyprus and have been visiting for almost 20 years. My advice is that if you have any issues that you aren't happy with to speak with Sarah at the earliest opportunity. If it is in her power to resolve it - she will. Don't wait till you come home and then complain about it on this platform without giving Sarah and the Pia Bella a chance to resolve it whilst you're there. That isn't fair to them.
We stayed in room 2102 and were generally really pleased with it. It had a couple of maintenance issues that we mentioned to Sarah who offered us a room change when they could not readily be resolved. However, on reflection we decided that we were willing to live with those minor issues because overall the room was great with really good A/C (and boy did we need that - with temperatures topping 40 degrees for most of our stay)
As mentioned, we stayed on a Half Board basis and were both surprised and delighted at the quality of the food. We normally avoid Half Board like the plague having had some bad experiences of Hotel Evening Buffet food. The food a the Pia Bella both at breakfast and in the evening was fantastic. We love to eat out in the evening - you can at the Pia Bella even if you are on Half Board. You have the option to change your evening meal ticket to a lunch ticket as long as you notify reception before midday.
However the evening buffet was so good that we struggled to justify eating anywhere else. The restaurant ambience was great too - sat outside on a lovely tree lined terrace with attentive but not intrusive waiter service for drinks. I must make mention of two waiters who stood out for us although most of the waiting staff were great. The ones that particularly stood out for us as exceptional were Mustapha (AKA 50-50) and Hulis. Great Hospitality and Service from them both.
The Reception staff were incredible too - so welcoming, friendly, calm and efficient. They were a credit to the Hotel.
The Chefs at breakfast preparing pastries and cooking eggs to order were so skilled. I enjoyed the most incredible mushroom omelettes freshly cooked for me each morning. They also cooked the most perfect poached and fried eggs too.
However you get to this Hotel - just get there - it's amazing. However, my advice would be to get a flight to Larnaca in South Cyprus and pay the small premium for the slightly longer transfer to the Hotel. We made the mistake of taking an indirect flight from Gatwick to Ercan airport in North Cyprus. That was a huge mistake and involved us in long delays at Istanbul airport on both our outbound and return flights.
Highly recommended - I would love to return - but next time via Larnaca Airport.More
