After a long day travelling to Kyrenia, we finally arrived at the hotel around 2 a.m. Alighting taxi, and first impression of hotel entrance was that it was going to live up to its impression of luxury from its website photos. Through the revolving doors, and you have to walk through security gateway/metal detector. A gentleman stands at this entrance 24-7. These gentlemen are impeccably dressed in tuxedos, and they smile and greet you very pleasantly. But you still feel they have an air if mafia about them. The reception area is very plush, and glitzy, and the staff very pleasant and friendly. We are then whisked to our room, following a porter walking very briskly. We pass through a long conservatory again very plush furnishings, drapes and decor. Impressive too. We have picked the right hotel. Then you meet the escalator. Like a carbuncle in the middle of all the glitz and marble flooring. In our room, tip given to porter. First appearance room was like photos. Plush drapes, bed linen, soft furnishings and drapes. A glimpse through drapes and the pool area right outside. On removing the covers and cushions from the bed they did not feel or smell fresh. They smelled of stale cigarettes and ash trays. They needed dry cleaning. The bed linen you slept in was immaculately crisp white, and of very good quality. This was changed every other day and bed made to good standard. Found restaurant way up on the 5th floor. Nice roof terrace, very pleasant to eat out there; when no smokers too: they have that right to enjoy a cigarette with a meal, so hey Ho. Breakfast very good in general, could always find something pleasant too eat, and plenty of it if wanted. Evening meal. Dress code. Smart? My husband and I did dress for dinner each evening, if only to make more of an occasion of it. But. Not many other people bothered. Shorts, t shirts, anything goes. The food of an evening? Plenty of choice, any taste would be catered for. But all meats cooked were not of good quality. Very much same things cooked on the grill by chef's each evening. Mainly chicken if some description. Desserts mainly consisted of tray bake cakes of various flavours and consistency. All in all, not bad quality for a 3-4 star hotel. But definately not up to 5 star in any country. Felt more like a cafeteria too. No linen on almost formica type tables. You could have a glass of water free with your meal. This the waiter pored for you from a plastic 2 litre bottle into a nice wine glass. They did this as if pouring a glass of fine wine. On day 7 I noticed the waiter at the pool bar filling said bottles from the tap at the bar. They were trolleyed away to the lift to the 5th floor. We were never offered our complimentary glass of wine with our evening meal. We had paid for it as part of our bed, breakfast, evening meal with the hotel. The waiting staff were very pleasant, but obviously not very well trained. They stood about obviously nervous, waiting for you to put your cutlery down, then whip, plate gone. No one lingered over there meals of an evening. Such a shame. The casino attached to the hotel. We decided to go in on our second evening, do a bit of people watching over the roulette table, perhaps place a small bet? On entry, the smell over fresh and stale cigarette smoke and stale ashtrays hit you. Again nothing against smokers at all. But it felt dirty. Again it had been very glamorous. And, I say had. But now? We walked straight through and passed the roulette, and rows and rows of machines etc. All gold and glitzy, but in need of a good clean. Big place, but we were out the other exit in about 2 minutes. This hotel is all about the casino and the guests that stay there to spend money in said establishment. 5 star holiday hotel? No. Sorry but no. As for the hotel that you can catch a shuttle bus to from the Savoy. Please do yourself a real favour. Do not bother. The poor poor people who booked that hotel must be very disappointed. The "golden sandy beach with beautiful sun bathing areas? Perhaps when it was first built. Now it is very run down and in very bad repair. Downright dangerous area to be in. We sat around with our fellow savoy guests for 2 hours until mini bus returned. Looked like a tsunami had hit the place, no kidding or exaggeration. All in all the Savoy Ottoman has been 5 star for its original decor. But now it is dated and holiday guests are not looked after. The casino guests yes.

Stayed with my husband
The location was lovely and walking distance from everything around the area. The breakfast and dinner wasn't perfect it was standard however for the price we paid you'd expect standards to be higher. Room was lovely and the whole hotel was ottoman featured. The staff such as security guy to casino lady dressed in ottoman outfit and the valet guys were lovely however the staff at reception didn't really come across very warm and welcoming.
But it might of just been a long day for them.
I would stay here again

Really elegant hotel. The apartments are big, very clean. The bathrooms have jacuzzi. Is close to the center of the city. Food is really great. But staff can improve, their number and quality! Is ideal for a romantic weekend!

In the hearth of the city center, very close to marina...Ottoman style architecture, very good interior design, well furnished and comfortable rooms...Breakfast open buffet was gorgeous...Yet the level of service to be improved...Ideal for short visits in Kyrenia, if you are in a business trip...

Room Tip: Higher floor and pool side rooms recommended...

Rooms were comfortable, big enough And in Every corner of the Hotel, you could see the ottoman empire style or its influence on furniture...to some extent it was nice... Food was average, swimming Pool was small, And casino was always too Much crowded. Waiters were unable to serve the guests. Once i wanted a cup of coffee from 4 different waiters but it took an hour to drİnk it....Well, all in all i do recommend the Hotel to you but don't have great expectations
