I booked this hotel as part of a TravelZoo package for a 3 day birthday trip and was very pleasantly surprised at the location and the room itself. Our flight arrived at 4am and about 90 minutes later we arrived at the hotel. Unfortunately our room was not ready nor was breakfast so we decided to take the opportunity to do a bit of exploring until breakfast was ready (7am) and they offered to hold our luggage.
The ocean and Domino's was 5 minutes away and the city center was a straight shot. Plenty of stores, eateries and most everything was in both Icelandic and English. Breakfast was a nice selection of juice, teas, coffee, pastries, fruits, breads, cereals and meats.
We never did get to do the Northern Lights tours (all cancelled) but we did sign up at the front desk for the 8 hour Golden City Tour which, as a photographer, I greatly enjoyed.
Overall, the hotel was a good choice, clean, modern, coffee/tea set-up in room, great location and nice front desk staff.
Only negatives, no small frig, no closet only shelves for items but we made do.
