Review of 101 Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Jun 2024
One of the finest hotels anywhere. Paulina at the front desk, Bella at the bar and the entire team made my family feel at home.
We stayed for 3 nights.
Then after driving around Iceland, we decided to stay here again for 1 night.
Simply amazing in all respects. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Very good location with car parking just above the corner where you can park there and pull luggage to the hotel conveniently.

And the room is very nice; I stayed at room 501 the corner one. The view is awesome with private balcony. The bathroom is spacious also. Worth the money!

Room tip: You can find parking just above the corner within walking distance (with luggage also). Very close location to major sites.

You have probably been warned enough by the list of other reviews here, but I would not recommend booking this hotel and cannot believe that with all of the other feedback that Bonvoy still associates with this property. As someone that has traveled extensively for many years, this may be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I booked a stay here for August of 2020 and unfortunately, the trip was canceled by the airline due to the global pandemic. This property was the ONLY one of any hotel, car rental, or activity that refused to give a refund. Rather, they told me that I could use my reservation at a future date and gave no time restriction. Once I was finally able to rebook my trip to Iceland, they are refusing to honor their promise.

The room was modern and clean, and we really liked the lobby and restaurant/bar. The location is also tremendous, you're right in the middle of the main business district in Rejkavik and can walk everywhere in town. One downside to watch for - the walls are THIN. We could hear people outside all night coming back from the bars and also noises from all around the hotel. Other than that, it was great.

We traded Marriott points for our stay at this boutique hotel and it was well worth it! Although our room was a bit cozy, we overlooked the Harpa and the water. The black and white colors and minimalist furnishings worked well. The staff was warm and welcoming and attentive to our needs. We did not dine at the adjoining Kastrup restaurant and breakfast/brunch was not available early Saturday morning---not to worry as the Gray Cat is just a few doors away and opens early for breakfast including an American cup of coffee! Well located to parking garage and walkable to major sites, harbor, Hop On Hop Off bus stop, shopping and restaurants---including the famous hot dog stand!

Room tip: Don't pass up this little gem!

It’s Friday at 11:30 PM and I can hear the BLASTING music from the club next door. Last night - same thing. I’m on the 4th floor. This by far is the noisiest hotel I have EVER stayed in and I typically stay over 100 nights per year in a hotel and have been to 30+ countries. If you enjoy your sleep do not stay here. Outside of that the staff is good and the hotel nice.

Room tip: Don’t stay here
