Good location on the Harbor, walkable to city central.

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 weeks ago
Great location on the harbor and walkable to city center for shopping and sightseeing. Room was comfortable, quiet and felt safe. We enjoyed the fire pit in the lobby when we arrive cold and wet! Breakfast average. Did not provide luggage handling. Had some WiFi issues. Near Fly Bus stop #15 from the airport. A little hard to find since the entrance is in an alley along the harbor rather than along the street. Signage to identify the entrance lacking. We would stay there again since a good location.
Date of stay: October 2024
Room Tip: Look for the entrance to the hotel in the alley along the harbor. Has colors above the entrance...

We stayed at this hotel primarily for ease of parking which is free just behind the hotel and we never had an issue finding a spot. Note, the entrance to the hotel faces the harbour, there is no entrance from the main road side. You turn down a side street (Hlesgata), and then a lane way which runs parallel to the main road.

We booked the Double room with balcony and these rooms are on the top (4th) floor with either city or harbour views. The room is very small but functional and ok for a couple of days living out of a suitcase. The balcony makes up for the room size and we enjoyed the ever changing views of the dry dockyard and panoramic harbour view.

We were fortunate to be able to check in early, about noon time as our room was available. Front desk staff were welcoming and efficient. The city of Reykjavík and many attractions are within easy walking distance.

Room tip: free car park out back

What a beautiful hotel. Boutique feel. We LOVED our Jr suite!
my husband and I had a stressful morning arriving from our US red eye, and by the time we got to the hotel utterly exhausted, Daniel at the Front desk was so intuitive and absolutely got us a gorgeous room within minutes! I can not sing his praises enough! What a wonderful human being! He took this stressed out couple and made us feel at HOME! any time I am going to be in Iceland again this is the only place I will stay!

Room tip: parking is free! Tons of restaurants! view of the water. Truly a gem of location.

Great trip we had. Watching Northern Lights was the last time fe time experience difficult to explain in words. The night was dark and the skies were free off any clouds pitching in the perfect set up for the Northern lights. The experience of Blue Lagoon was enthralling spenfibg neatly four hours in the hot waters of the lagoon.

Stayed as part of a package tour. Room was big enough for two . Internet free and relatively strong. Hotel staff and front desk very helpful. Located in the harbor section of town. Has a breakfast bar & restaurant in-house plus plenty of other restaurants in the immediate area with a wide variety of venues. Also, the Maritime & Saga museums are just to the north of the hotel. Take a walk on the opposite side of the street to get a feeling of regular neighborhoods in Reykjavik.

My first time in Iceland and 5 days was just not enough time for me! The hotel was about 45 minutes away from airport, which I recommend you don’t use a taxi because it’s expensive $176 US dollars was ridiculous!! Take the public transport from the airport to a transfer station then a bus ride to a stop right by your hotel or rent a car, which is what I’ll be doing next time for sure!
The hotel and staff were great , so kind and helpful felt really welcoming.
Restaurant and bar are combined. Good food and service, breakfast had a European style buffet, meats , cheese, fruit, eggs & meats etc $33 US dollars, you’ll have to decide that one.
There are other restaurants in walking distance and food market, the dock for Whale watching is also a 5 minute walk.
The room was clean and quiet, they keep it warm in the room and lights controlled by key insert, mini fridge and coffee maker included. Bathroom has amenities the are very nice. No closet or dresser in room, but a bench for suitcase. Only 4 floors stairs or elevator available and the higher you are the quieter it is. If you skip housekeeping you can get a drink coupon from front desk for the bar!

They have plenty of space to hold a family meeting. Library area, and movie theater, with some great classics to watch. Fire pit up front which was great after being out in the cold! I think you’ll be very happy with your stay.

Room tip: Just a few minutes away is free parking
