Nic nacs of every kind and variety are displayed through out this shop. I only had a cup of tea and a pastry on my visit but they offer quite a selection of paninis, soup, cheesecake, cookies and the like. People seem to come in to take a break, read a book, check their laptop or smartphone, and the like.

I could see an outside patio on the top but never went there.

Orincess Leia and Hans Solo greet you in the bathroom.

Their cakes are the sweetest thing I have ever had in my mouth. You can just die of sweetness but it's worth it! :)

Just stopped inside for a chai latte (680 ISK) and a coffee (480 ISK). The staff was very open and helpful and the place has a very cozy feel. It's perfect for a hot drink or warm meal while walking around Laugavegur. Worth the visit!

We enjoyed a light lunch and coffee but the vegetable lasagna looked wonderful. Wish we had time to return to try it!

We visited Cafe Babalu for dinner on a cold damp December evening. The cafe was warm and cozy with a very quirky, but fun, vibe. This cafe serves up some great vegan/vegetarian options. We had a delicious veggie chili and lasagna that was so welcoming on that cold evening, the cafe even offers up a delicious vegan carrot cake, which I highly recommend to vegans and non vegans as well. The only downfall here was the service, which wasn't terribly friendly, this being the reason that I didn't submit a 5 star rating. Cafe Babalu is a great option for lunch or dinner and offers a lot of variety with fair prices.
