The concierge was very nice to point out places on the maps. After dinner, my son and I headed left (opposite downtown) and enjoyed a 15 to 20 minute leisurely walk, taking photos and the weather and happy to find this beach. It was cold to us, however others were in the water having a good time. We noticed parking and I believe a place to eat further down the street. It was late when we arrived and we didn't see anything about showers or the pool.

We walked from our hotel to the beach, might be better to drive or take the bus, but it was worth the trek for this free experience. The beach has a geothermal pool and the water by the beach is also supposed to be geothermal lay heated. The pool was great and I got in the water, that may or may not be heated, at least by American standards. Either way it was a fun experience and we can say we went swimming at a beach in Iceland

Stopped here and had a nice picnic. Pretty place and lots of locals seemed to be enjoying the beach and soaking. Some neat statutes nearby. Our guide told us the sand was brought in from Morocco.

this is a nice place with an imported sand beach. You can walk down and stick your feet in the water, if you want.

Small ankle deep pool, as well as hot tub, beach, and steam room! Well worth the couple bucks you have to pay to get into! Don't forget you are in Iceland and the beach isn't going to be warm!
