Really enjoyed our stay at the Exeter over Christmas. Staff were lovely, rooms were brilliantly designed, making the most of the space. The walls were concrete with an industrial chic vibe throughout. Huge quiet sauna, superb bakery and good burgers available at the restaurant. Heartily recommended.
Bathroom was not entirely cleaned before we checked in, but a nice room and friendly staff. Room was dark with not great lighting. Loud noises coming from piping in walls in the middle of the night. Overall a pleasant stay.
We stayed for 3 nights, bed and breakfast via a jet2 package.
I had been emailing prior to our stay and always received a prompt reply check in was easy and pleasant.
Parking was free in the underground carpark.
Our room was super industrial,very clean and made a great base for exploring.
Breakfast was filling with plenty of choice for all including delicious fresh salmon.
Hot water urn available to fill your flasks or cold water for your drinks bottle ( the best tasting water you'll ever drink)
We ate in the restaurant/bar twice food was good, hotel guests get a discount we found out on our 2nd visit,so ask when you order and pay.
I Would definitely return to this hotel ,its very close walking distance to the city and harbour.

We just loved iceland ....so if your thinking about going just do it ....1 of our best experiences ever....not to mention seeing the northern lights.

Stayed here with my boyfriend in December. Hotel was in a fantastic location, perfect for walking to city centre, and right beside the harbour for lovely views! Room was lovely, as was the bathroom. I paticularly loved the Icelandic toiletries provided! Breakfast was perfect, and the hotel restaurant served great food in the evenings. I couldn't recommend the hotel enough, I'd definitely return! Thanks for having us!
The Exeter was a great place to stay! It is conveniently placed right near one of the tour guide pick up and drop off spots as well as being right on the harbour and less than 5 minutes from the main high street. Really handy when you don’t know where anything is at first.
The service couldn’t be faulted and Le kock restaurant that is found at the hotel boasts the best burger in Iceland for 2018 and 2019 and comes with a discount for staying at the hotel too. We definitely rated it, and was also well priced when compared with other restaurants. The only down side is there wasn’t a huge selection on the menu. There is also an on-site bakery which does some fantastic doughnuts!!
The whole hotel and room was spotless. Breakfast was more than suitable to set yourself up for a day out and the sauna was a great way to relax after a day out.
The only draw back is the room was exceptionally hot at night, leaving us on one occasion to actually open our balcony door at 3 in the morning. We couldn’t find any climate control or anything but then Iceland is freezing the rest of the time so for many people I think this wouldn’t be an issue.
