Stylish hotel in the city centre minutes away from most sites, shops and restaurants. Wonderful spacious rooms with lovely bathrooms and a hot tub in the spa. Do not miss the happy hour with complimentary drinks and finger food each late afternoon.

Travelled as a couple for 4 nights via Icelandair. This hotel is in a fantastic location in the heart of the Reykjavik. Walking distance to several attractions and in the thick of downtown with a few steps.

First impressions was delightful and warming

Room 408 - king deluxe,was wonderful, spacious and tastefully appointed, however a little dimly lit. But this was in keeping to the rest of the hotel. Complimentary non alcoholic mini bar restocked daily and a nespresso machine for your caffeine fix.

They have a social hour at the bar between 5-6pm where you can have a complimentary drink (beer/wine/hot drink) and snack.

Breakfast - served between 7-1030am with a good selection.

Konsulat has got some great touches and I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are helpful, attentive and keen to help. Special mention to Margarita, Nevin and Harlem.

When I booked this trip I went back and forth looking at different hotels and I finally selected the King Deluxe room at the Reykjavik Konsulat. Well, I was not disappointed by this selection. This was a very well appointed room with lot of space, great lighting and storage. The king sized bed was very comfortable and I loved the bedding. There was a small couch at foot of the bed which was great to watch tv or put on your shoes. The bathroom was very well appointed with a massive shower with both a rain shower head and a handheld unit. The expresso machine got quite the workout as well.

I was also fortunate to have a small balcony (see pics) that was not advertised as they said they cannot guarantee a room with one.

Location: this hotel is in the heart of city center. You can walk quickly to so many places - it's about 5 minutes to the scenic waterfront walk. There are so many good places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk. The "penis museum" is right next door also and I'll be reviewing that as well.

I had a few minor suggestions for the hotel and included them in the survey they sent me. Well 15 minutes after I submitted the survey I received a personal e-mail from the hotel manager thanking me and saying they will review everything I suggested - you don't get that type of service many places these days.

Lastly, I want to thank Margarita who checked me in and helped on a few occasions....service that was above and beyond!
