Wow! We have stayed in some amazing hotels but this one was beautiful. Only being 8 suites felt exclusive and the views and decor were exceptional. The breakfast was plentiful and loved the lounge area to make drinks and have snacks. The only negative was breakfast was brought an hour early one morning which woke us, but as we were busy it wasn’t a terrible thing! Wouldn’t hesitate to return, loved everything about our stay.
The rooms are good, very modern and well equipped. Views and location are excellent. Breakfast was really good, and the lobby bar is comfortable and well stocked. You’re probably wondering so far how I only gave two stars, well we stayed here for my 50th birthday, and had a very busy itinerary, starting early each morning, so the fact that on every single morning we had zero hot water in our room really did spoil the whole feel of the holiday. We reported this on day one, having gritted my teeth and shaved then showered with Icelandic cold water, and despite being promised that the problem was being fixed, nothing was done. We were offered the use of a different room to shower on day two, but that’s hardly ideal.
Offered nothing in the way of recompense, so I think my review is fair.
This was one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed!
The room was astonishing! Views scores mountains, the sea and the city.
The staff and low key nature were also far more impressive than anything I’ve experienced.
I would not just recommend but also let you know We are going back!
And of course Iceland itself - the people the sites, the snow, the food everything was simply amazing.
Fantastic views of the city, beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast and wonderful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would absolutely recommend. Can’t wait for my next trip back!
Other reviews mentioned it being tricky to find (especially if you’re arriving in the dark) so I would recommend reading up on directions prior to arriving. It made all the difference.
The hotel is central enough for Reykjavik to get about on foot. We hired a car and were able to park easily in front of the hotel for a small fee.
The suite we were in was magnificent and designed to a high level. We were in suite 1 on floor 20 and had corner views of the city below us. If it weren’t cloudy the days we were staying, I’m sure it would have been a great sight for Northern Lights viewing. The amenities were excellent. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the honesty bar lobby and everything in the minibar except alcohol was free. Amazing. We booked the invisible check in which meant that they sent me a key code via phone but it seemed to be temperamental. Luckily we had a really helpful receptionist who met us downstairs and gave us physical keycards instead.
Our continental breakfast was HUGE and went to our room.
I cannot say enough good things about this place and would recommend and come back. For the price £1000 for 4 nights, totally worth it for 5* accommodation. Thanks Tower Suites
