Spotted this large bakery on our way to visit the Perlan Museum on our final day in Iceland.
It is clearly a bakery frequented by local people as there was no English signage. However, they had a large range of bread, pastries, cakes, drinks etc and the friendly assistant offered us an English version of the menu.
We ordered soup, sandwiches and cake and it was very reasonable when compared with other establishments. The cauliflower soup was the best soup I have ever had!
There were plenty of tables to enjoy your purchases and the whole area (including the toilets) wells very clean.
Definitely worth a visit rather than paying more than double at the eating establishments at The Perlan. Far more relaxed and supporting a local business.

We are from Florida so this was our first time visiting this establishment. We get there and are waiting for about 10 minutes to order until we realized we needed to pull a ticket and wait for our number to be called. We kindly asked the lady working behind the counter if they could just help us since we aren’t from the area, and she very rudely told us no and we need to wait for our number to be called. Since we were on a time crunch, we ended up leaving and not getting anything. Horrible experience seeing as there were not that many people and she could’ve helped us, but she didn’t.

Don’t recommend.

We totally lucked up with finding this gem. The staff was so accomodating and kind dealing with my questions about their offerings. Loads of breakfast and lunch offerings. Pies and cakes looked great but we did not partake. Loved the peace and quiet atmosphere for such a busy bakery. We ended up there 2 mornings in a row as it was that good. Go and check it out. Enjoy!!

Hands down the best bakery in Iceland if not the Nordic. Friendly staff and fair prices.

We are 100% satisfied every time with their great selection of bread or pastries.

Been regular here 15 years and always find the same good quality.

We have been in most bakery’s around Reykjavík, and this one is absolutely our favorite one! Located in a good quite place it’s always has a table to seat without long lines. Freshly renovated, nice design and staff. And while other bakery’s in downtown often are empty for some products, this one always has all variety😍 Amazing fresh pastry! Love it!
