After reading the reviews, we decided to stay at the Electra Palace and it was a pleasant experience. The hotel is on a quiet street and the views of the Acropolis from the terrace are stunning. The staff is courteous and the breakfast is very good. If we travel to Athens again, we will plan on staying at the Electra Palace again.

Beautiful classic-style hotel near the Plaka and the Parthenon. Wonderful central location for a first visit to Athens. Lovely area to walk around. Rooms were spacious and clean and had all the necessary amenities. I highly recommend it and would stay here again!

Location, service, and quality of hotel are terrific! Everyone is super nice, breakfast is good, view of Acropolis from pool is fantastic. It's steps from Plaka so the location cannot be beat. We were leaving at 5:45am for our ferry and they kindly arranged a taxi, and the sweetest part was that the hotel had a spread of danishes and fresh coffee for those guests with the early starts that couldn't join for breakfast. I've never seen a hotel do this and though it went above and beyond. Made me wish we had stayed here on our one night return from the islands.

One note I had about the stay was that we had a balcony room but it doesn't have a view of the acropolis which wasn't noted on the notes about the room when reserving. I would recommend not spending the extra money for the balcony rooms because (a) the room is tiny, and (b) if you're visiting in the summer, it's too hot to enjoy the balcony. The view is of the basketball court and I wish we had known that upon booking cause it would've been nice to save $$. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early September. When our booking was done in May, the hotel was almost fully booked. As a result, we could only get a standard room which was small but reasonably well equiped and appointed. Our view was limited to an apartment complex across the street which was disappointing considering the outstanding views of the Acropolis from many of the hotel's rooms and the lovely rooftop pool/bar area. Staff were courteous and professional but certainly lacked the warmth that we enjoyed at our hotels on our visit to a number of Greek Islands in the weeks before. Breakfast (included) was excellent and probably the best we had in Greece. Location is fantastic--walking distance to Acropolis, Agora and
retaurants of Monasteraki.

Room Tip: Book early for high season and get a room with a good view of the Acropolis.

I think we had a middle-priced room, ~200 Euros a night. It was all fine, but we had just came from the Ritz-Carlton in Barcelona, so we were a little spoiled. The roof top bar/restaurant is very nice (never had dinner there) with a great view of the Acropolis. The included breakfasts up there were so-so. Staff was nice and helpful. We could walk to the Plaka, the Acropolis, the big park, the Meat Market, and many, many more spots. Enough shopping to satisfy any traveler. Don't bother downloading the Electra Hotel app.
