Our third trip to Athens in 4 years and have stayed at the “Herodion Hotel” two times in the past three years on our first trip stayed at the Philipos Hotel a sister hotel to the Herodion Hotel. Comfort rooms, recommend you ask for a room with a view of the Acropolis you will pay more but worth every cent. Very friendly and helpful staff
Excellent location close to the Acropolis also close to the Plaka where you can shop till you drop then enjoy a meal and drink at one of the many restaurants.

Stayed for 4 days. A great location. Multi seating areas in the lobby with couches and arm chairs are perfect for relaxing. The rooftop restaurant with its Acropolis view perched above and the Acropolis Musuem lit up interior
View to enjoy while eating reasonably price gourmet dining is a gem of an experience. The waitstaff are just fabulous and the food is beyond amazing-the chocolate mousse is mind blowing. I will say not all the rooms are perfect and we changed ours but a city center hotel is going to have to fit in to an existing neighborhood. So try to opt for a high floor. Still the people at the front desk make up for any negatives and just go to any end to help you. The nicest women at the lobby bar are a joy.
The check out at 5:30 am was the only time the front desk was a bit cold and rude without the expected friendliness
And no one said” hope you had a nice time here” but I guess at that hour I can’t judge too harshly. We were spoiled by everyone else.

We have been staying here over several years and the Hotel just gets better and better.

Rooftop restaurant is outstanding both for food, service and views, as is the 4th floor hot tubs.

Location is superb for visiting all the sites (historic and shopping!!).

The hotel organised a great trip to the Corinth canal.

Not the cheapest accommodation in Athens but you will not be disappointed if you stay there, in fact you will be delighted.

All the staff make you feel valued.

Room tip: Acropolis rooms are great

We stayed at the Herodion for 2 nights while visiting Athens. Location is perfect to visit Acropolis and everything is in walking distance. Rooms are comfortable and we even had a balcony.

The only issue that there was a loud motor noise in the bathroom. Not sure if it was a fan or the room next to ours. Difficult to sleep and we need to keep AC on in order to drown out noise. This was room 405.

This was our first visit to Europe so maybe I’m just a spoiled American but the room was very small. Hard to maneuver around, especially with two weeks worth of luggage. The bathroom could fit one. Knowing this, if your a light packer and don’t mind cramped space, then the room would be fine knowing that we had a few of Acropolis which was the bomb. The hotel staff was very nice, food was OK. I believe we had just a standard room so maybe the other rooms are bigger. It was in a good location and clean so I would recommend just not for me.

Room tip: Get a room with a view of Acropolis.
