Description: A traditional country pub, in a idyllic surrounding. Set in the peaceful village of Chacombe, the George and Dragon is only 1 mile from junction 11 of the M40. The George and dragon is the perfect place for all occasions, whether it be for entertaining corporate lunches during the day, cosy dinners, family get togethers or a drink with your friends. The pub dates back to the 17th century and still has original beams and fire places. During an extension 20 years ago a hidden well was discovered, which has long become a big attraction of the pub, along with the unique brass bar. There is a large patio area which can seat up to 40 people during the long and thirsty summer months.

This is a gorgeous, historic pub sent in a lovely area on the Northants/Oxfordshire border. Very friendly welcome and quirky rooms make this a very pleasant stop off for a drink and or meal. As it happens, we did have dinner which was delicious. Highly recommended and hope to return soon.

Stopped by for a burger and having used this pub before it doesn’t disappoint, friendly welcoming staff quick service and a very satisfying burger too.

If you want a lively atmosphere and great food this is the place to come. We dined early and the pub was busy with locals, but enjoyed great food in the restraunt area and had a good evening.

Make sure you book up. The place was full and really busy . Theservice was amazing and the food was amazing too. 3 steaks cooked to perfection. Best they’ve ever tasted . Vegetarian dishes available and the risotto I chose was the tastiest dish ever.
The waitress and waiter staff were on the ball and provided a great service . Lovely traditional village pub .
Dog friendly and high chairs and baby changing facilities also available. Car park was full but we parked out on the street. Seating area out side .
We will definitely return and i highly recommend

What a lovely old country pub/restaurant. Booked late lunch for car club of 16. We turned up with 19 but this was no problem, we were ushered into our own side room where the tables were adjusted as required. The staff were delightful and the food was superb. All this despite the landlady seemingly about to give birth! Well done and thanks to all (and good luck with the little one!). Highly recommended
