Lovely restaurant on the main street in Óbidos. Doesn’t look much from outside but medieval type decor inside. It fills up quickly but the service was attentive and friendly and the food tasty.

Honestly, best Bacalhau Algis (if spelling is correct) I had. Local cheese served as starter is also nice. Pasta with cheese are tasty.
The atmosphere is “medieval cosy” (to see what it means, you need to try it)

Thank flothol

After more than two weeks in Spain and Portugal, eating I at a wide range of places, this was our first real disappointment. The food was okay - certainly not as impressive as what we have had at much more humble places. However, with the exception of one lovey local waitress, the staff were actually downright rude. All customers were rushed through and tables were cleared with a unnecessary drama, banging, and throwing down of plates.

Petrarum Domus provided us with our first dinner in Portugal and it set the tone with charming decor, prompt, friendly service and delicious seafood. The stone interior is well suited to the town of Obidos and the lighting and sprawling interior help create an inviting and compelling atmosphere.

When it came to the meal, portions were generous and the main course of cod (Bacalhau) was satisfying; contemporary yet as we learned, steeped in tradition. Thank you to the staff at Petrarum Domusfor unknowingly getting our visit to Portugal off to an excellent start.

You may easily pass it by roaming through this highly-touristic route. The attire is medieval and really fascinating. The portions are big, and all starters they bring to your table in the very beginning, have their price: so don’t taste anything if you don’t wanna pay extra. It’s not on the house! We took pasta with salmon (which turned out to be very rich) and tournedo steak, which was quite good. The surprise from the title is lemon. We asked for tea with lemon to bring separately, and we got lemon skin in the tea instead. Well, it’s something :)
