Where do I start?
In summary this is a vastly overpriced and overrated hotel, most definitely not a 4 star establishment but a 2 star at best and more a guest house than a hotel...
Firstly, On arrival we were dismayed to find one of the electrical sockets - which had two items plugged into it already - literally hanging out of the wall with the live wire exposed. This was obviously extraordinarily dangerous and I cannot believe that none of the hotel staff noticed this.. As we arrived at midnight we didn't report it to the reception until the next morning so we had to place a chair in front of it until it was fixed so our five year old couldn't go anywhere near it.
We also noticed at this point that the air conditioning was not working...
The next morning we reported the electrical socket and air conditioning to the reception and I to be fair they had fixed the socket upon our return the next evening.
The air conditioning was still not working though, so I sent an email to reception (and never did receive a reply). it was so hot in the room that we had to (try to) sleep with the balcony door open.
The next day we reported the air conditioning again at reception and was told by them that "they weren't aware of a problem with it and maybe we were setting the thermostat incorrectly" (we weren't, it's not rocket science). Again, when we returned that evening it still wasn't working.
So I sent another email (again with no reply) and five minutes later there was the distinct sound of an air conditioning unit being turned on... And hey presto, the air conditioning worked perfectly.
So obviously they hadn't even got the unit turned on, which they must have been aware of in order to rectify it so quickly after my second email (and 3rd complaint about it).
We were informed on our arrival that there was currently NO RESTAURANT in the hotel and that only breakfast was available, apparently because the hotel is "currently changing owners"...
Well, "breakfast" was a total disaster with cold eggs, plastic bacon, not much of anything else and only 1 employee to clear and reset the tables so every morning there was a wait for a table to eat cold eggs and whatever else they happened to have (or mostly not have) on the day.
On our last day there the eggs were actually green (!?!) which I've never ever seen before in 50 years of eating eggs for breakfast every day.
The bathroom in our room was extremely tired and in desperate need of a refit, mostly held together by globs of silicone.
This was not a cheap stay (220 euros per night for a room) and I have to say that out of the hundred plus hotels that we've stayed in, this would rank in the bottom 10 of all time.
Needless to say, we won't be returning and would advise anyone else against it.
