My friend and me had a two night stay at the Mainport Hotel. The Hotel itself was super nice. Pretty and clean.
But we experienced to not feeling welcome as two young women.
The staff wasn’t particularly rude or unfriendly but we noticed to be treated slightly different. Other guests were guarded to their rooms by an employee- we didn’t. Other guests luggage was carried- ours wasn’t.
On the day of checking out, the bill was sled under our door, charging too much, which eventually could be clarified. But the way of offering the bill was in my eyes not very professional. I expect different treatment from a five star hotel.
The breakfast was nice, though. It could have been filled up faster, but the quality and variety of the food was good.
The Spa area was nice and fairly clean as well but there was no staff available which is questionable to me. What happens in case of emergency? I personally wasn’t able to find an emergency button. Other than that would it have been nice to have staff to clean up dirty cups from previous guests using for drinks.
All in all we had a pleasant stay, and I do consider to come back one day. But only after the staff has learned, that there’s no difference between guests, as long as they’re paying.More
