It is a good experience to live what what thought to be an ergonomic sustainable neighborhood in the 80s. The house look strangely small and awkward, but this is just a visual effect, the houses inside are all what you need.

This is a must see in Rotterdam, looks like something out of a movie set or lego land but is the real deal, people really live in these odd shaped cube houses, its a spectacle to see. There is a show house, its worth seeing just to satisfy your curiosity. Its completely different to anything else in Rotterdam. The cube houses are essentially tilted terraced houses with the living space upstairs in the cube part. They are their own community within a city, hats off to architect Piet Blom, it is truly original.
After years of wondering about the insights of the yellow cubes at Blaak, I finally took a peek inside. I dont want to spoiler anything, but you should not miss it if you're a student in rotterdam
You got to pay 2/3 euro (I hope i got it right) per entry to the Kijk-Kubus Museum but nothing much actually. Just a showroom to let you feel and experience what it is like staying inside a tiny cubicle house.
Was fascinated by these houses and glad to have had the opportunity to have a look around. Space is very small so it can get uncomfortable when there are a few groups of people in the house that is open to the public. They try and manage numbers.
Fun to look about and enjoy the architecture. A bit crowded, but worth a look. Not good if you don't like close spaces
