Wonderful place and great service. I highly recommend the place. The location of the hotel is great and the services are very high. In very worm (summer) days , the only limitation is that no air-condition is available

So glad we picked this hotel. We actually walked with our bags from the station. Maybe 10minutes max? We found the hotel staff to be efficient and welcoming. They offered help with restaurants and tickets to museums and suggestions of things to see. Everyone with whom we interacted seemed to like their job and wanted to be there. Lots of smiles and genuine interest in their guests.
Our room provided all we needed for our 2 night stay. It’s a boutique hotel and so had its own vibe and was very clean lines and functional, without being uncomfortable - King bed with two duvets, desk and chair, small TV at end of the bed, windows opening onto bridge cafe area below and a large shower in the bathroom area. There was also a small area for hanging a few clothes.
We had breakfast the first morning and would recommend. There’s an excellent selection of bread, cheese, meat, fruit, freshly made to order eggs , juices, tea, coffee etc. - you will not leave hungry. We were headed to the train for Amsterdam day #2 so grabbed a coffee and pastry on the go at the station. We also had coffee at the tables outside in the sun and saw people stopping to enjoy coffee and cakes etc. The hotel uses the restaurant close by and offers a couple of freebies here and another restaurant in town.
Location wise, it’s perfect. You can walk to everything , but are located in a quiet area by two bridges with lots of baskets of flowers and cafe tables if you want to just watch the world go by and nurse a drink, plan your stay etc.
You can get into Amsterdam quickly by train and avoid the tourist nightmare of Amsterdam poor food and expensive hotels , yet see the sights.
Would absolutely return.

Staying at the Boutique Hotel d’Oude Morsch this week. Situated in the centre of Leiden, the hotel is a converted barracks. However, don’t panic, the rooms are modern, well equipped and the hotel has a very cool feel. There is WiFi, tv etc and all the usual hotel features, just not the usual hotel chain feel (although there are chains to turn the lights on). Very friendly reception and a nice lobby and bar area, with outside seating. Finding the hotel is not so easy, but follow the Google directions as they right, even if you don’t think so.

The location is just a street back from the central streets and canals. So seeing the town from here is ideal. Also very close to the rail station.
