We booked for a Christmas lunch, which was supposed to be one of the highlights of our visit to Amsterdam on the 25th of December. I had great expectations based on the majority of the revieuws, however, there's no reason for us to visit MOS Amsterdam again.
Upon arrival we got one of the best tables, unfortunately the sunshine was so strong it wasn't pleasant looking against it as there were no curtains or blinds. So we asked if we could take another table just next to ours, which sat in the shade. In reply the waiter said that table was booked and that he wasn't able to switch the sun off and that we should enjoy ithe beauty of the nature. That wasn't helpful and we didn't get the impression he was listening to us. We got another table upstairs, with less of a view of the IJ but at least we could have a conversation without squinting continuously. The waiting staff (we had 3 or 4 waiters at our table) were competent and knowledgeable but not welcoming nor friendly. This is a shame, because the dishes we had were beautifully presented and full of flavour.
