Don't be deceived.. The boat in the picture above is not related to the Blue Pepper cruise boat, it a low canal boat, in not very good condition, cold and very noisy.

Before you book this cruise I am making you aware that the cost of the set meal is 120 euros per head and this does not include any drinks. There is a wine flight which costs 50 euros per head......

4 of us joined this cruise from the Hotel Europe, the boat which was 20 minutes late was already full and the other guests had already had their starter, our amuse bouche was a stuffed lychee, the starters arrived tasty but cold...the starter was tofu with some beansprouts, chicken and lamb satay.

We ordered a bottle of Mersault 110 euros, and were told they only had one so once that had gone we would have to choose something else. The Temperillo was nice.

The wine flight at 50 euros a head I think is probably better value. It includes a glass of champagne white and red wine with your meal and a dessert wine with your dessert ! The server topped glasses up as they emptied so overall I think it might be better. We don't like champagne or dessert wine hence our choice to have wines off the menu.

The main course is presented on a plate and some vegetables are served separately. On our plate we had some balinese sea bass, a prawn in sauce, In the bowls we had beef renting, smoked tofu with some veg and some coconut covered vegetables and for some reason rice crackers. All the food was tasty it was just very average and not very warm, born about by the fact when I asked if they had any more prawns the ones that arrived were hot and delicious. The best part of the whole meal..

Dessert was a parfait of some kind, it wasn't great, so best left unsaid..

We were sat at the back of the boat and the engine was very noisy and the vibration unpleasant. We had to wear our coats as it was quite chilly. The total cost for the 4 of us was over 730 euros..................

Amsterdam by night is beautiful, but go see it on a tour boat. This is not worth the money and I would suggest for the same money go eat at the Michelin starred restaurant Bord'eu in the Hotel L'Europe

About 2.5 hours of good wine and good food as they cruise you around the canals in Amsterdam. Nice big boat, very stable, and the food was quite good as well. It's covered, so no worries about being exposed to the elements.

Just two menus available, a vegetar 5 dishes menu and a 7 dishes tasting menu. We ordered both with wine packages.

The food in both menues were nice, a bit over average, but the wine packages were a sad story.

Our friends with the vegetar menu and wine package got one small glass of sparkling wine for the first three dishes. The wine glasses were empty after the first dish, but not a drop of refill was offered.

When I noticed the staff that a wine package should be a little more than one, small glass for three dishes in a very polite way the service went from OK to very bad.

This is a very expencive restaurant compared to much better food and wine for the same amount of money elsewhere in Amsterdam.

The service and attention to their customers, and their reaction to polite criticism was very bad.

400 Euros for 4 people was way too much compared to what we got in return. We went away disappointet.

Dinner cruise was fabulous, service was great, and food was excellent. It was truly a magical evening. We are vegetarian and manager went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We will definitely return when we’re back in Amsterdam. T
