Five min walk from Dam Square, off the beaten path or tourist traps and hidden from hordes of coffee shop hoppers. Family-run restaurant, very successfully experimenting with sauce and seasoning for "common" fish and meat dishes. On a good day we sat in a nice side street outside, peaceful and relaxing. We went for late lunch, had cod and salmon for main (what can be special about them, right?), very good! (Sauce and a combination of grill and oven).
Warm pear pie with fresh cream was perfect for dessert! (As well as warm waffles with thick vanilla ice cream!). The service was very good and friendly, but a bit slow (1:30hr for main and dessert). Understandable for a family business and the time of the day, was not critical. I would come again to try the other things on their menu (and repeat the pear pie!), would just factor in more time. Prices are somewhat above average for lunch (I guess it was already dinner at 15:30), but not killing: €30 pp for main, couple of beers, dessert and coffee. It was worthwhile!
