We stayed at the hotel Palazzo Alexander for a family break for 3 days and couldn’t recommend it enough.

When we arrived our bags were kindly unloaded and we were checked in quickly and easily. We arrived reasonably late and were given some local recommendations on where to go for dinner.

The hotel is small and quaint, but has everything that you need. The rooms are comfortable and have good facilities and are regularly cleaned and tidied. We asked for a family room, which ended up being two large adjoining rooms which worked really well for us - two showers and toilets are always handy… plus two mini bars!

Location is excellent, slightly out of the absolute centre but walking distance to everything within 5 mins.

Everyone that works at the hotel is incredibly friendly and helpful and completely made our stay.

Breakfast was fantastic, everything is freshly cooked and brought to the table and it was creaking once all the food was brought out!

If you need a drink, or somewhere to rest / cool down through the day, the bar is open and they will happily serve you coffee and drinks.

I genuinely couldn’t recommend this hotel more. We also stayed in Pisa and Florence during our trip but this was our favourite. Thanks to everyone involved.

We just completed a 3 day stay at the wonderful Hotel Palazzo Alexander within the walls of Lucca. This hotel was a great choice! The hotel and rooms were historically charming, spotlessly clean and worked well. The breakfast beautifully served in their lovely dining area. The father and son proprietors were very friendly, helpful and spoke English. The convenient car park was about 1/2 block away for a modest fee. Walking distance to most sights within the walls of Lucca. Excellent!

Lucca is one of my favorite places in Italy and this hotel, from the owner to the breakfast waiter, is just wonderful. The rooms are lovely, big and comfy, with great services (Including the chance to use your streaming services) and the hotel is located in the city but away from the more touristy parts, so it is quite. Lucca is a small town but still has areas noisier than others. And thanks from the heart to the owner, who told us that the little church by the Duomo had a concert of Puccini arias that night: I mean... Puccini at home, what else can you ask for? I'm not just recommending it, I'm planning to return to Lucca and to stay at the Palazzo Alexander again.
