I always start my reviews by pointing out that I am a very discriminating guest, with extremely high standards (higher than most). For that reason, whenever I travel to a new city, I search for a Four Seasons hotel, as The Four Seasons brand is known not only for luxury, but for the exceptional service it provides to its guests. So given the Four Seasons reputation, and once I had seen the website, it was a “no brainer” to choose the hotel for my stay in Florence. Let me begin my review by saying that, in all my travels, I have never been so well taken care of by hotel staff. I was traveling alone, so due to the warmth of my reception upon arrival, I immediately felt as if I was with family. That feeling continued throughout my entire stay, as every staff member I encountered, from the General Manager Patrizio Cipollini, to the front desk, to the concierge desk, to the various restaurants, couldn’t have been nicer. In addition, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. And the fact that it is situated in the middle of its own park, in a residential neighborhood that is only a 10-15 minute lovely walk to the center of town, is a real plus, as the main squares and other areas of Florence are very busy and hectic, so it’s wonderful to have your own special sanctuary to retreat to. I stayed in a “Deluxe” room, which was very large and airy, with a huge bathroom, and excellent technology. It even had a Harmon Kardon wireless speaker so you could play music from your iPhone. I was particularly impressed with the fact that many of the lights actually had dimmer switches, which is not the case in many European 5-star hotels. So if you plan to travel to Florence, look no further ! The Four Seasons Firenze is the best of the best!
