A lot of visitors to Florence make their way to busy Piazzale Michelangelo for the views, but the Bardini Gardens have excellent views over the city with an intimate setting and lack of crowds that makes them well worth the visit. Follow the suggested signed route through the gardens, with a stop halfway at the Coffee House. Pretty even in rainy weather, this is worth doing, and your ticket is also valid for the Boboli Gardens (which are close by) if you want to do both in the same day. Put this one on your list if you have limited time on your itinerary.

I hope, that's how Paradise will look like (this and Boboli Gardens, well...maybe just a little bit less stairs :-)).
Beautiful, exquisite Gardens and Magnificent Views.

Whilst my wife did the Uffizi I went to the gardens. So relaxed, beautiful, clean and with the most amazing views over Florence.
Away from the busy streets and 1000’s of tourists, I settled down with a Frappe in the kaffeehaus, a perfect morning out!

This is by far the better garden of the Bardini/Boboli pair. The views over the city are delightful and one can sit in the shady cafe for lunch looking out over the Arno. If the wisteria is in bloom (late April / early May), then the Wisteria tunnel is not to be missed.
