We stayed four memorable days in this amazing property, the old villa rooms are magical and like stepping back in time, a dream set in the most beautiful part of Tuscany. The pool area is set right next to a vineyard and has great views of the valley and country side. We jogged in the morning through the undulating narrow roads leading to the nearby farms and the view in every step is breath taking. We dined twice in the one star Michelin restaurant in the most romantic setting, with excellent high quality and tasteful food and wine. The breakfast was a treat with freshly baked variety of tarts and cakes, and other good choice and selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. In general, the staff is very accommodating and there to please. I would definitely recommend this Relais & Chateux property.

Spent two wonderful nights here in June 2016. The definite highlights were both our evening meals enjoyed outside in the Michelin-starred restaurant, looking at the incredible view and watching the swallows swooping and diving as the sun went down. Also enjoyed our al-fresco breakfasts, taking advantage of the pool to cool down and visiting nearby Cortona. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. There are plenty of activities on offer at Il Falconiere - cooking classes, wine tours and falconry displays, to name just a few - but we chose to just spend our time relaxing and trying to keep cool in the heat of the day. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We stayed five nights at this hotel. We had two rooms in the main villa, with fantastic views of Cortona. The rooms are comfortable, and very nicely decorated (doors to the rooms are the original doors - note that they are a bit difficult to lock from the outside). Outside area is the best, with a jaw-dropping restaurant and two nice pools. The hotel also has a very nice spa. Great location for short trips to villages close by, such as Cortona and Montepulciano. Siena is about 1h drive.

Room Tip: Doors to the rooms in the second floor in the main villa are the original doors, and may therefor be difficult to lock from the outside.

Cortona is our favourite Tuscan town (and we've visited lots of Tuscan towns), and we first stayed at Il Falconiere on our honeymoon 20 years ago, not long after Riccardo and Sylvia had arrived there. We have been back more than once, to stay or have dinner, and seen the place grow (and become more expensive!) but the new additions are well landscaped and now blend into the countryside as if they'd always been there. Our return this year was all we could have hoped for - a beautiful big room, friendly service, and of course superb alfresco dinners on the restaurant terrace. Ribollita as you've never imagined and the best duck ever.

The only regret we have about our stay at Relais II Falconiere and Spa is that we should have skipped Rome and Venice and just stayed in Cortona at Il Falconiere for three or four more days. Our room was beautifully furnished and romantic. Our wine tour was informative and fun, led by Benny, one of the owners who was charming and gracious. The wine pairing dinner was absolutely delicious and gave us a chance to sample many of the Baracchi wines which are all top notch. One little piece of advice, just be really clear about any food allergies, we may have been too off-handed when we mentioned my daughters nut allergy but luckily we caught it on time and there was no harm. We also received a lovely sparkling wine send off the next day on the house for the mix up. Lessons learned by all. I would return tomorrow, even with the 8 hour flight just to have the Brut again!

Dear Kim
greetings from your paradise in Tuscany!
What a wonderful prize for all our Staff, reading your kind words about your stay with us even if so short!
As you say, 8 hours flight is not enough to renounce to come again to Il Falconiere!
We are so sorry for the little problem about Julia and Catherine allergies, but everything went well at the end!
It will be my pleasure to forward your review to Benny and all my Colleagues, and more to inform him how much you enjoyed our Brut...
We wish you and your wonderful family all our best
Have a lovely summer
