booked 1 night &trusted guidebook to stay@ 4 star hotel would give feeling &energy of PALERMO. Avoid. They say they have parking but they don’t. No access by car They do not answer phone and Hang up on you when they do for directions. Sent my daughters to walk to hotel for info on how to get there and park. Immediately ran into 25 men doing hard drugs on street. Scary.

Stayed here for 2 nights in June and then again for 2 nights in July. Wonderful location but holiday marred by lack of assistance with baggage. It appears that every room on the third floor has steps somewhere or other to get to the room. Booked online direct with the hotel and paid an extra 10 euro for a romantic experience for the first stay and it was well worthwhile. Got a balcony (only 6 rooms) plus gowns and slippers plus decent prosecco and huge bowl of fruit. Totally different on the second stay (without the supplement). Room looked onto an alley with a derelict building site a breath away. Nothing special but at least housekeeper replaced used items in the bathroom (hadn’t happened on the first stay). Breakfast isn’t bad but they should be absolutely embarrassed about the green and gray mottled scrambled eggs. Some items not replaced once eaten up - even an hour before breakfast closes. Reception courteous (unless you ask for assistance with baggage) but much shrugging if you ask about discrepancies in service. Whatever you do, don’t eat in the restaurant. After 2 weeks eating street food in London and then a week eating seafood at beachfront kiosks in Sicily, got my first food poisoning here. Think it was the ‘black pork ragu’ which is the most basic bolognese. It was red and, well everything the next day was red. Plus service for food and drinks for a motley number of foreigners (many with limited English) is left in the hands of one poor young women who tried her best but left us feeling unloved. Menu was also limited. Avoid. Throughout the hotel there is evidence of a lack of maintenance. Would still recommend for the location, though, and if we ever return to Palermo I don’t believe there is a better option for a stay.

This hotel is in a good spot and reasonably nice decor. The problem is you have no hope of reaching it by car as Via Vittorio Emanuele is pedestrian only. I spent one and a half hours circling the historic town trying to find a way in but to no avail. The hotel gave poor directions when I called them and were very relaxed about the whole ordeal when I finally checked in. This meant I lost valuable time that afternoon in visiting parts of Palermo. There are surely better places to stay. The breakfast was average at best. Better to eat in one of Palermo’s famous pasticceria.

The hotel location was wonderful and I could not ask for better for the purpose of sightseeing, shopping and restaurant dining. The room was a nice size. The staff was very helpful. It is located just off one of the famous "four corners" architectural attraction. The hotel's included buffet breakfast was good.
Instead of paying 50 Europes or more to get to this hotel (or any hotel) from the airport by taxi, you can share a taxi and pay only seven Euros, the taxi takes a maximum of eight passengers. In the area where the taxis are, just look for the sign in English saying "Taxi Sharing." It is a short distance to the right of where the people are waiting for individual rides. The line for it is much shorter than the one-destination-only taxis. I suggest that you write down on a piece of paper the hotel name and address of your hotel, including the nearest cross street and hand it to the driver.
If you arrive at the Palermo airport from the U.S. (probably by connecting in Rome or another connecting flight), your luggage will be in a different place than the others because it has to be scanned. Ask an airport employee which ROOM (not carrousel) U.S. baggage will be sent to. It will be in a room that is a short distance from the carrousel that the others on your flight are picking up their luggage from.
