Because is was our last day in Sicila and our plane would leave in the evening, Marsa offered us a room that we could have until we left to the airport for the price of 1 day. What a great service! Besides that, Marsa is a great place to relax and enjoy the sun. Lots of sunbeds, big pool and sea are available. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this place. The hotelroom is an apartment b.t.w. with a fridge and stove. There is a supermarket in front, so if you want to cater for yourself, no problemo!

Room Tip: Bathroom is kind of small. For me no problem.

On our way between Agrigento and Cefalu we choose this place for it's location and because of the options offered. A nice looking pool (we did not know it was closed untill the end of May, so no pool, no chairs etc) and sea view. However La Marsa happened to be the worst experience of our trip to Sicily. We had two one bedroom app. They were on the 1 floor. When we arrived we had not noticed the awful stench that came from the bathroom. It only occurred to us when we went to sleep. The bedroom and bed were fine, but the bathroom was far too small, not clean, with a shower, a toilet and a bidet all pressed into less than 1.50 x 1.50 mtr. Arriving at la Marsa it already struck us that the road and the entrance looked quite messy with big waste containers and stray dogs running around. Reception, bar, restaurant, everything was closed after 19.00, so we went for dinner at the pizzeria across the street. We went to bed and after a while the barking and fighting of the dogs was accompanied by very loud music coming from a place across the street. Eventually it stopped at half past two in the morning. Of course not La Marsa's fault, but there was nobody around to complain about it. The whole place was unattended, except for some other guests. The breakfast room was kind of a canteen with quite basic breakfast. We cannot recommend this place to any other foreign tourist. Wifi only lasted for 1 hour, but reception forgot to mention that at checkin.

Room Tip: Foreign tourists, avoid this place

Have just returned from a beautiful week in Sicily. Can't fault La Marsa Vacances except for it's location. The scenery surrounding it is stunning and the views from the bungalows are exceptional however it is about 3km from the nearest town Mondello along a very dangerous coastal road that you wouldn't walk, particularly at night. Taxis were a nightmare, it cost us €40 return to go into Mondello & back (3km) and €60 return to go into Palermo. We were in our 30s and obviously tourists so maybe there was an element of 'rip off'...who knows! There are local buses but impossible to figure out without a little bit of Italian. The wi-fi didn't work while we were there and the tv couldn't pick up any channels but the kitchen was fabulously equipped & the air con was so good!! Maybe La Marsa might contemplate a courtesy/shuttle bus to assist tourists, however that being said, we seemed to be the only non-Italians in the bustling resort. The male receptionist did have some English and was very helpful, however there is limited facilities nearby that we could see. A mini supermarket, a restaurant bar and a hotel are just across the road and offer some choice for a night out. La Marsa is a fantastic resort in a heavenly setting but if there is a next time we'll be hiring a car to save some cash!!
