I wandered in here thinking it was just an old castle, but actually it houses a superb collection of medieval and renaissance art.
I knew a little about renaissance art (Bellini, Raphael, etc) – but these were artists I’d never heard of: Bernardo Strozzi, Ghirolamo Dai Libri, Pietro Bernardi, Francesco Morone and others, who were active in Verona – all good artists, but little-known outside Italy.
If you're willing to climb stairs, there are walkways along the walls and into some of the towers of the castle.
