Owner description: Cycling Venice Lagoon is a VeniceToExpo2015 project, but above all is a start-up conceived by a group of young Venetians, who love bikes and the Venetian lagoon, and aim to show the Venetian lagoon in a different and unique way. Venice is a hectic and chaotic city with many tourists, but also a fragile city with much beauty to be admired all around it. Taking a bike ride out of the touristy hustle and bustle, you'll discover a storyboard between past, present and future. As would be expected, the "water" will be our narrative thread! With our tours, we promote slow and sustainable tourism, surrounded by breathtaking views of the islands and lagoon, riding an inch from the water in a truly unique landscape. We play along with you with our "lectures on bike" (the result of a university team research at IUAV and VIU) about water lagoon themes (fishing theme, salt theme, etc) for the most curious travellers! The Venice Lido Bike Tour "Hit & Run" (half day tour) and Venice Lido Bike Tour"Slow & Fun" (full day tour) will surprise you with things you wouldn't expect. You will definitely fall in love with these places! Join us with your friends or with your family, and you will have fun for sure! In collaboration with some local partners, we are arranging new tours to discover the Venetian countryside, including the "Roman Grid" tour with its water canals, or riding a bike along the rivers flowing into the lagoon. We want to experience the Venice lagoon with you as protagonists of this sustainable and unusual adventure. Are you ready?

We found this when looking for travel cards and since we like cycling, we thought we would give it a go! Marco, our guide, met us at Tronchetto with bikes and helmets already waiting for us. We took the ferry which took 20 minutes with fantastic views of Venice (including right in front of San Marco square) and arrived at Lido island. Marco led the way and stopped at different places of interest and told us about the culture and history of the Venice lagoon as well as buildings of architectural interest - it was a fascinating and relaxing 16 km of trip - which took about 4 hours. We can recommend it to see a different side of Venice.

The cycle was relaxing with Marco as a knowledgeable guide. Lovely to see another part of Venice and get a break from the crowds. Highly recommend for any size group!

We really enjoyed everything about this ride. We stopped at an old Jewish cemetery, we stopped and looked at different architecture, we stopped and had a wonderful lesson on the Venice lagoon, and more about the history of the making of Venice at self its self. We stopped at a charming little local hang out for water and refreshments. And then had a beautiful ride along the Adriatic Sea side of the Lido Island. It was absolutely gorgeous! The bike ride itself was very easy to do, and the bikes were comfortable and well maintained. Our guide was outstanding, and I would recommend this tour to anybody who enjoys being outside, getting a little exercise, and seeing interesting things.

I was a toptour. A lot information. Nice views. Buy a boatticket upfront for more days ( if you stay longer then one day on Venice).
