First of all, let me start by saying that this was a very enjoyable tour. Very informative with an entertaining guide (Simone). A couple of things you should be aware of. Although this tour is labeled as ‘free’, it was made very clear at the start of the tour that a cash donation was expected. Whilst this was not enforced you should expect to pay something. Second, the website information implies this is a small group tour (max 6 legally allowed) but this refers to the maximum group size that can be booked. On our tour there were about 40 people. However, because the tour followed some of the quieter areas of Venice, it was very easy to hear what our guide was saying. Although advertised as a 3 hour tour, it was in fact just over 2 hours (including the introductory 10 minutes or so). For us, this was long enough, as the ‘walk’ included a lot of standing and listening, which was a bit challenging for our 11 year old! But, for planning your day in Venice, 2 hours for this tour is a more realistic guide. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour. It was great value and a great introduction to Venice to start our day.
