My husband and I decided to spend 3 nights in Venice at the end of our Mediterranean cruise. After checking the reviews on TripAdvisor, we selected the Aqua Palace. It’s a small first class hotel, with a high level of service. Location is great, 6 minute walk to St Marks Square and 10 minutes to Rialto Bridge. (Of course, that’s once you get acclimated to the warren of narrow walkways and bridges ). The water taxis can load right at the hotels entrance and the gondola stand is just out the door.
We were in a junior suite overlooking the canal. The room and bathroom were huge. Although decorations were a little dark, the lighting was very good and the a/c a blessed escape from the heat and humidity. Because of the heat, we never opened the windows so, in hindsight, we didn’t need to upgrade to the canal view.
The buffet breakfast was more than sufficient, with scrambled eggs, meats and plentiful continental items.
Every person we interacted with, from the front desk staff to bellmen to breakfast servers were friendly and accommodating.
We would strongly recommend the Aqua Palace.More
