I have mixed feelings about this hotel..it looked good on the screen, but when staying there I was underwhelmed.
Possibly because from the start of the experience i was disappointed...online the room was quoted at 81 euros, and an Italian friend called and made the booking for me only a view hours ahead of check-in and the rate was 90 euro
When I checked in and asked about this, I was given the room at 81 euros, but I didn't feel that this should have been something I needed to check on
The room I received didn't look like the one I saw online either, but it was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was well designed and stylish .
Being an "art" hotel, yes there is a lot of art, and some really great pieces, but design wise the main foyer/bar area is really tacky, and doesn't enhance the art collection. Being in the design industry, it's subjective of course!
The stairs to the room from the lift are annoying, and the numbers of the rooms are not easily identified if you walk out of the lift from the reception. I walked back and forth with a big suitcase looking for my room
This part is probably what bothered me the most, and is my fault I didn't research it better
The hotel is not that close to town...it's a good 20-25 minute walk into the town. There are no small bars, coffee shops, or boutiques around this area at all. If you are alone and the first time in this city, maybe consider somewhere else
Service was fine, and maybe the price reflects the location, so, if you are happy to be out of town and have different needs then me, then stay here
