A good antidote to all those small aging hotels carved out of big old buildings whose shaky lifts ( if they have them) dusty terrazzo floors and too high ceilings are the price you pay for a central old-town location.
This has the same good location, away from sketchier areas by the water, and the rooms are reliably modern, recently decorated in generic contemporary taupe, bathrooms as you'd hope for, all in all a straightforward business worthy of any modern city without any particular character or 'charm' but a good barometer by which many other local hotels fall short.
Not a destination hotel in any way, basic amenities, slightly soulless 'cafe' on ground floor and not a place to hang out but the bar / restaurant on its doorstep has a good scene early in the evening.
