Have stayed here many times over the years as the staff are friendly and very efficient

We arrived at the Grand Hotel et de Milan at 8:30am from New York and we were greeted at the door by Mr. Versare, the Manager of the Hotel, who knew we were arriving early and wanted to make sure that we were taken care of and that our stay was pleasant and worry free.
Though typically their earliest check-in would be noon our room was ready and Gaia checked us in and walked us to our room. Imagine how happy we felt at that moment! We were exhausted from the red eye Delta flight and only had 2 hours till a private tour of the area (which the Concierge at the Hotel arranged and which was excellent).

We received an upgrade to a beautiful inner courtyard suite. I highly recommend the inner courtyard rooms as they are quiet and the buildings are beautiful and not too close together. We stopped at the hotel on the way back to the States and had a single room which was equally as beautiful and pleasant facing the courtyard.

The old world charm and personal service of everyone there is something rare to behold and priceless when you have flown the red-eye to Milan!

The Hotel is a beautiful flower in the nicest neighborhood in all of Milan and is directly across the street from Via Montenapoleone the famous street of Fashion designers. P.S. Verdi lived in this hotel and it has a long history of illustrious guests.

Before our trip I went back and forth via email at length with the Concierge service at the Hotel: They arranged for a car to pick us up at 7:30am from the airport and we were given perfectly clear instructions about customs, where to meet, etc. The car service was excellent and again the warmth and professionalism stellar.
Many thanks to Mr. Milias, the Chief Concierge of the Grand Hotel et de Milan who is a member of the Les Clefs d'Or; you will recognize concierge from Les Clefs D'or by the keys they display on the lapel of their uniforms and to quote from the Les Clef site:
"The crossed gold keys on our members lapels are the international symbol of our organization... You are dealing with an experienced concierge, one who's dedicated to providing excellent service to all"
The Concierge service at the Grand Hotel et de Milan never disappointed! They lived up to the highest standard of excellence.
I arranged multiple transfers from airports to train stations to Monza racetrack and back and the Corps of concierges at the hotel gave seamless directions and made our trip HEAVENLY! Their car service got us to the door of the trains and picked us up at the door.
Mr. Galli, Mr. Arcamone, Mr. Romano and Mr. Snoussi guided us and we were SO grateful for their service in the most pleasant, beautiful, land of Leonardo Da Vinci - which by the way has the best Pizza I've ever had.
The Hotel is within walking distance to La Scala, the Duomo, The Galleria and the Cathedral and just a little further the Sforza Castle- and of course... shopping...

The Armani Hotel and the Four Seasons (of which I am a fan and use regularly) are a stones throw away but much more expensive; truthfully nothing is like the Grand Hotel et de Milan which has old world charm, a great bar, excellent breakfast room, impeccable caring service, kind hearted people and an easy going feeling of a beautiful home away from home. The two restaurants there have stellar reviews but we just didn't happen to eat there. Next time we will.
Our love affair with beautiful Italia began at the Grand Hotel et de Milan - and we look forward to going back again. Upon returning home it took us several months to get over our missing our wonderful experience at the Grand Hotel.....

Room Tip: Promotions incl. breakfast and upgrades. Large courtyard rooms; pleasant view. Comfortable beds, large bathroom, sitting area, amenities.

We are delighted to learn that you appreciated the upgrade to your charming Superior Suite, overlooking the Hotel’s inner courtyard, as well as the comfortable room we assigned you on your trip back to the States. Our Reception Team always goes far and beyond to accomplish our Guests’ requests, and does its best to give the room ready as soon as possible when the Guests arrive in the early morning.

A lovely experience through and through. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, beautiful and wonderfully quiet. The airconditionning worked like a treat so that I had the coolest room in the world. The food was excellent. In all I am going to stay there again and again.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this wonderful hotel .. our junior suite was spacious and super comfortable (after having an expensive but super tiny room in London!), the staff from reception, concierge, bell boys, housekeeping were beyond excellent! Breakfast was nothing but perfect ... even when they didn’t have something at the breakfast buffet, they managed to get us what we wanted! Nothing was too hard including sending 2 suitcases ahead of us to Rome, from organising restaurant reservations, a private guide for us for the Duomo and more! Bravo, bravo, bravo !!! We will be back ... soon !

I have stayed at this hotel many times (perhaps six or seven) and always found it to be my home in Milan. Being an opera buff I was drawn to it by the fact that Verdi lived here whenever he was producing his operas at La Scala just five minutes up the road. He died here and the suite he occupied is available. Alas, I have never had it - perhaps when I win lotto. Apart from the history this hotel is quite unique in today's world. So many hotels, even old hotels, have a sameness in their decoration - you could be anywhere in the world. Here the Grand Grand et de Milan, while offering all modern technology, has kept a distinct feeling of old Milan. The moment you walk through the door you feel it. While there I had dinner at the Don Carlos restaurant which has opera memorability covering all the walls and some of the best food in Milan. Breakfast is served in the Puccini restaurant. Staff are excellent, courteous, friendly, always helpful: I had requested a walk-in shower and they made sure I got it. Shoppers would love it; via Montenapoleone is directly opposite, A note for the hotel: When you have to renovate please keep the unique atmosphere you have now, don'y join all the others,

The Master lived here for almost thirty years, in his famous apartment, which is still preserved in its fine antiques and décor.
